July 18 2012
Dawson Creek, Bc, Ca

Our day started out by being at the Chevrolet dealers at  7:00 A.M. when they opened. Walked out the door to 53 degrees !!!  High here today was 61 degrees.  Needless to say we wore our light jackets. We had to get the fuel filter replaced.  They said about an hour so went down the street to Mickey D's for some breakfast.  To make it quick it was after 10:00 when we got out of there so opted to stay one more night here . Went to the visitor center and the mile O marker for our picture.  Asked a young man passing if he would take a picture of us...he said sure...but got a phone call just as soon as he said yes.  When he talked to his call he told them he was trying to take a picture " of some old timers"  !!!  Man did I get a laugh out of that.  Guess we are getting there but really didn't think yet.  ha ha  Toured the town and went to Wally World and a few shops in the down town area. Bought a dvd player for the bedroom tv, and some dvd's.  You just wouldn't believe the prices here.  A box of little debbie cakes we buy for 1.79, sells here for 2.99 !!  Water is 2.99 for 4 liters, gas is 1.27 a liter.  Wonder what kind of wages these people get ?  Went through the visitors museum.  Stopped at a grocery store and picked up something for dinner...just like Aldi's.  Rick is washing the front of the 5th wheel as it is horrible.  We took the truck through a car wash earlier this afternoon.  Hard to get the bugs off.  Tomorrow we start on the Alaska Highway, yea for us !!!
