We have finally made it to the start of the Alaskan Highway! We went from Alberta to British Columbia and a three hour time difference then from our home.  Stopped in Grand Prarie to have lunch and guess what was there.....an A&W !  Boy was that frosted mug of root beer good.  Roads were very bumpy today.  It is becoming much more hilly now.  We went to Walmart to shop for a few supplies and return a watch we had bought in Billings, Mt that was not keeping time.  Get a load of this....could not return the watch as Walmart Canada and Walmart USA are two seperate entities !!!  The manager was going to let me exchange it for a like amount but they didn't have one so I was going to pay the difference....NO GO !  I was really flabbergasted !!  Found a safeway and was going to pick up dinner at the deli....only had turkey meat loaf left...not for me.  A gallon of water was $2.98, a jar of Strawberry Jam was 6.00.  We didn't get the water but did get some peanut butter and jam and some bananas and a loaf of bread..fifteen dollars.  We must have picked up some bad gas somewhere as now the instrument panel is telling us to change the fuel filter.  Luckily there is a chevrolet dealer here in town and Rick is going there this morning to see about it.  Hope we can take care of it today and then be on our way.  Raining here this morning.  Does anyone have a guess as to what these yellow fields are ?  Hundreds of miles of them.  You will be surprised.
